“And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.” (Luke 5:19 NKJV)
Faith doesn’t take no for an answer. In Luke 5, four men carried their paralyzed friend to Jesus, convinced that He was the only answer. But when they arrived, the house was overflowing. No room. No access. No clear path.
Many would have turned back. Maybe another day. Maybe another time.
But not these men.
They didn’t let the obstacle stop them. They climbed to the roof, tore through the thatch and mud, and lowered their friend straight into Jesus’ presence.
And Jesus responded. “When He saw their faith, He said to him, ‘Man, your sins are forgiven you.’” (Luke 5:20 NKJV)
Notice—Jesus saw their faith. Not just in their belief, but in their action. They didn’t wait for a better moment. They made a way.
How often do we let small things keep us from Jesus?
A busy schedule. A bad mood. A rough morning. Distractions and excuses pile up, and before we know it, we’ve let everything else take priority over time with Him.
But real faith isn’t passive. It presses through. It climbs higher. It breaks the ceiling if it has to.
So, what’s keeping you from Jesus today?
Push past it. Tear through it. Make the decision to press into His presence, no matter what stands in the way.
Because when you refuse to quit—when you press into Jesus despite the obstacles—you’ll find more than healing.
You’ll find Him.
